Yoga and mindfulness can be great tools for strengthening your foundation. Yoga and mindfulness help to bring some energy down and away from our busy minds and into our feet. The following three poses are my favorite for feeling rooted and grounded:
- Mountain. It seems simple because you are just standing there, but there is much more to this pose. You want to get your shoulders back, tighten your abdominal muscles, and spread your weight evenly across your feet so that you feel extremely balanced. - Tree. This pose is great for getting more attention directed toward your feet, especially the one that is firmly planted on the ground. - Half moon. Everyone has a favorite pose, and half moon is mine. I love the feeling of expansion as I reach toward the Earth with one leg and extend one arm upward.
